The hexatonic music doesn’t differ much from other musics besides a certain discipline in the sequence of sounds. All hexatonic scales that I play consist of six, according the name, sounds and the distances between them are a semitone, one-and-half tone, and four whole tones. While a semitone is immobile and appears right after the first sound of the scale, one-and-half tone moves around and appears either before four whole tones or after them or somewhere between two of them. And that’s all. There are no more restrictions. Fingers can run madly, as they like, wallowing in the illusion of freedom.
